America's #1 Mind-Body Transformation Expert and author of 'Mind Your Own Fitness', speaker, trainer, lifelong martial artist, U.S. Marine, PhD in Psychology and amateur neuroscientist.
My martial arts background extends formally to the age of 5 and informally to my toddler years. My mother was my first teacher back then, teaching me Kendo with a stick. My formal training began in Okinawa in Goju (back in the 1950s) and with my Uncle Keiji in Japan (Judo and Kendo). I love the challenges of the arts and in fighting in general. The mind-body connection is strong and both must be accomplished in order to be effective.
Back in 2005 I was invited to teach at the 2nd Annual West Kenpo Confederation by Chuck Sullivan. It was a wonderful experience to be alongside one of Ed Parker's original blackbelts.
