Started in Shaolin 5 animal kung fu in IL, then to Kenpo and Kajukenbo. Went to the military and it was get whatever I could. In TX, GA and abroad I studied Jeet Kune Do, Krav Maga, Shuai Chiao, Korean Kung Fu and more. During the time I spent stationed in the US, I was able to learn what was called Siam Gung Fu. At that time it was something I think the JKD people would recognize. Wing Chun with Muay Thai and Jujitsu. I even after not being able to find any other Kenpo school began to train in the distance program for Dragon Kenpo and the IKCA. I made it to 3rd black-Sandan with Chuck Hutchinson and my IKCA tapes never got to Vic I still have some of those old VHS tapes I ended up in Michigan...still learning and searching. I found a teacher under Vic and the IKCA and worked hard again, while also training at a local Combat Hapkido school. Here in Michigan it has been interesting. All three of the Combat Hapkido schools are gone and the IKCA school is long gone too. I recieved my black belts in both systems and I think they comliment each other well. Michigan was hit hard...veteran auto workers lost their jobs and then the housing bubble left them with owning more than their homes were worth. my journey continues in Michigan..thank you Sifu. Currently involved in Wing Chun, Hapkido, Systema and now back into Kenpo. I recently, after quite awhile out of the Kenpo world, recertified for my black belt under a Parker/Trejo instructor.
