About Me

Bob Yoder is the founder of Tai Shu Do "The Way of Ultimate Techniques". He has over 36 years of experience in the martial arts and has taught thousands students to include Ohio State & Franklin County Corrections Personal, Law Enforcement Officers, and even members of the United States Military.

Bob Yoder created Tai Shu Do after studying various styles of martial arts for many years and achieving various ranks to include black belt / instructor rankings in several styles of martial arts. A favorite qoute of his is: Blend all tactics and skills. The more one knows, the better, for it is far better to have the knowledge and not the need, than to have the need and not the knowledge. But.. also, if knowledge is power, then the power of knowledge is truth. Seek it!

Mr. Yoder was a registered Unarmed Self-Defense instructor for the Department of Rehabilitation and Corrections. He instructed Basic and Advanced Unarmed Self Defense for the State of Ohio Corrections and Franklin County Corrections.

Many of his students that have studied under other instructors before coming to him have said that they have learned more from him in their first month than they did in several months of training they received from other previous instructors. That is because he trains his students in a no nonsense easy to understand manner. It is up to the student if they want to train in a traditional martial arts uniform or sweats. The student has the option of receiving traditional training where they progress through belts and receive certified ranking or if they wish to study in a strictly self-defense manner.

Besides Martial Arts Mr. Yoder is also a Usui Reiki Master/Teacher in the Usui Shiki Ryoho tradition and in various other Energy "Reiki" Systems. Mr. Yoder is also a Personal Fitness Trainer and a Senior Fitness Instructor.

About Me

I am a fairly tall Tutor with a craving for anything mechanical. Rock is my religion and I also like to watch funny films or crime TV programs. It happens I am a very friendly individual who likes to have fun, meet people, groove and make things work. My past times include badminton, surfing online, mackeeper, taking photographs and editing images. I own a pet called Nan, a very gorgeous tiny being who makes my helm spin most times.

About Me

I began my Kenpo training in 1966 studying the Tracy's system at their San Mateo, CA school run by Ray Klingenberg. I stayed there until I entered the military. When I came home from Vietnam I joined the San Mateo County Sheriff's Office and took up my Kenpo studies again with the Moore's Brothers where I achieved my Shodan in 1973. I subsequently went to John Sepulvada's school in Santa Clara, CA., where he was gracious enough to have one of his blackbelts teach me the advanced forms and sets not taught at Moores. I have been involved in the martial arts for the last 45+ years as a teacher, competitor, and official, as well as a tournament promoter and arbitrator. As a career law enforcement officer of 32 years, I instructed POST Defensive Tactics, TAC Squad martial arts training, and Women's Self Defensive courses. I both competed and officiated, (kumite, freehand kata and weapons forms), over 30 years in both national and international open karate tournaments, as well as the California Police Olympics, World Police and Fire Games, and Western States Police and Fire Games.

When the Unified World Martial Arts Federation organization was being founded by Grandmaster Joe Halbuna, Grandmaster Al Novak and Kyoshi Ben Abarca, I was asked to create and oversee the Kenpo branch. It was through the UWMAF I received my promotion to Shichidan, my certificate being signed by the ranking board members, Joe Halbuna, Al Novak, Wally Jay, Ming Lum (Ng), and Willy Cahill, and witnessed by Vinton Koklich, Max Pallen, Ben Abarca, and Emil Batista. In 2000 I received the Al Novak Award for lifetime dedication to the martial arts. Of all the trophies and gold medals I have won in competition, this was my highest honor.  In 2005 I was asked to coordinate the Western States Police and Fire Games karate competition held in Reno, Nevada, including the transition from previous JKA rules to developing open tournament rules.

Over the span of my 45 years in the arts I have met many wonderful people from all styles and systems and for which countless friendships have endured, including many from the world of Kenpo. And to that end, it is through Kenpo I found the bond that, to me, truly transcends the essense of all martial arts.

As a recent addendum, I have had the privilege of coming full circle in my Kenpo career, back to my roots by being promoted to the rank of Kudan, 9th degree, Master in Kenpo by Great Grand Master Al Tracy. (#B-938-38). As such, I am the 38th, 9th degree issued by Great Grand Master, a tremendous honor to say the least.

About Me

I started my martial arts training in 1972.  My training has sent me though varioius paths but found my way to Kenpo Karate.  It is the main style we teach at our Dojo in Mableton GA.  Our school never fails to bring home more than its share of trophies and medals in forms, weapons and sparring.

About Me

This photo was taken in 2006 at Bolling AFB out of Washington DC. Here, I'm a retired military Kenpoist-1st Brown, with a US Army Level 1 certification in Army combatives. In this picture (with my son and other fellow Kenpoists in the DC area), I'm getting ready to test for black.

Mission accomplished (finally earned 1st Black in Apr of 07), however lately for the past two years I've been doing Krav Maga in the Northern Virginia area thru Peter Gianelli at Krav Maga NOVA and earned a blue belt in Judo thru the USJF( Don't ask why?).

About Me

Hey folks!  Nice to meet you by web, at least.

About me- I live in Milani Mauka, HI.  Mauka is Hawaiian for"toward the mountains," so we are the "new" section of atown called Mililani, right off H2 in the heart of the island of Oahu (Oahu isone of the 8 major islands, and where 3/4 of Hawaii's residents call home).

I spend a lot of time running, weight lifting, reading, enjoyingchocolate and pizza (which is why I have to spend so much time running!), andexploring new sites on the web (which is how I found this site).  I alsoenjoy spending time with my pets.

As for websites to recommend, I have quite a few: fun and interesting Delicious bookmarks on a large number of sites, some Identi.ca bookmarks and my TypePad blog.

About Me

Hey, Clovis Here. Quite a nice group here. Hope to make a few friends from this community. I am a teacher an dlike social media such as this. My spare times I play sport, music and design websites (not professional) to make a buck here and there. Right now I am working on acai optimum, free iphone, free food samples. From these sites you can deduct that I like foods, but I am also health conscious and not ignorant of techno gadgets.
